Where Do You Want Ghosts to Reside

Carsten Pieper What a gorgeous debut by this Polish quartet. Clearly, a nod to diverse 70s prog-greats (the usual suspects, nothing wrong with me!) but with a very fresh sound. The base might be melodic, colourful (sympho-)prog but folky or jazzy sprinklings are tastefully added. Favorite track: Time To Take Stones Away.

TheEliteExtremophile This Polish quartet performs a lush, cinematic variety of instrumental progressive rock in the same vein as Änglagård. Mellotron is prominent, and jazz tones are pervasive. And though Änglagård comparisons may be obvious, Fren successfully distinguish themselves.

about

"The attention to detail, even when the detail is an imperfection, is incredible. So many layers, working cohesively; the harmony rich, and all while retaining the perfect amount of humanity." - Everything Is Noise

"Muzyka zawarta na krążku jak i sama oprawa graficzna sugerują, że mamy do czynienia z wydawnictwem niezwykłym, magicznym, w dzisiejszych czasach nie spotykanym." - Trójkowa muzyka

"Where Do You Want Ghosts To Reside prezentuje obraz bardzo sprawnego technicznie polskiego zespołu, poszukującego jeszcze pewnie swojej brzmieniowej niszy, gdzieś między rockiem progresywnym, jazzem, fusion i psychodelią. Zespołu czerpiącego garściami z odległej już rockowej klasyki, jednak ubierającego to w bardziej nowoczesny entourage. Dla fanów inteligentnego progresywnego rocka w instrumentalnym wydaniu." - ArtRock.pl
